Start with the question

Some problems can be worked through in a phone or video call. Others need a closer review of photos, measurements, specifications or proposed work. Tell me what you’re dealing with so we can establish a useful starting point.

Technical decisions and troubleshooting

Repowering, drivelines and propellers; electrical and charging systems; diesel, HVAC, electronics and equipment selection. Advice can help you choose an approach, understand the tradeoffs or decide what needs checking aboard.

Refits, installations and second opinions

Review estimates and proposed work, prioritize upgrades, compare equipment and work through questions that arise with a yard or technician. More involved questions can become a defined consulting project, with scope and fees agreed before proceeding.

When the problem needs design work

Some questions call for analysis or a modification rather than equipment advice alone. Naval architecture and technical design can form a separate project.

A clear scope for the help you need

Rigging and sailmaking work belongs with those specialists. Remote advice also depends on reliable information from the boat; where an on-site inspection or test is needed, we can identify that next step.
